Grab your whisks, because the eighth season of The Great Australian Bake Off is back on our screens!
This year, 12 bakers from different backgrounds, professions and walks of life are coming together to showcase their passions for baking.
With Natalie Tran and Tom Walker as the hosts, and bakes being judged by Rachel Khoo and Darren Purchese, there is plenty to look forward to.
“This new season is next-level – the bakers have truly raised the bar. From the very first challenge, you’ll see bold flavours, incredible technique, and a real sense of heart,” Darren said.
“I’m so excited for Season 8 of Bake Off – it’s bursting with warmth, joy and delicious surprises. In today’s fast-paced world, it offers the perfect slice of feel-good escapism,” Rachel added. “I can’t wait for viewers to step into the shed and experience the magic we’ve created.”
While the show is known for its wholesome moments and delicious dishes, unfortunately, not all 12 bakers can make it to the grand final.
This means someone is sent home each week.
Find out who has been eliminated below.

Who has left The Great Australian Bake Off 2025?
Jai Johns
28, Barista
As a passionate vegan, Jai came into the competition with a passion for plant-based recipes and bold flavours.
Each week, they embraced every challenge that came their way.
Unfortunately, during Tropical Week, they fell short.
While their show-stopper had flavour, it was dry.
“I’ve had such a good time,” they said.
“I’ve met so many beautiful people, it’s been so fun just to nerd pout with people about baking, I never get to do that.”
Kelarnie Whalen
22, Recruitment Consultant
She brought so much joy, enthusiasm and talent to the show, but sadly during bread week, Kelarnie’s time in the competition came to an end.
“I’m proud of how far I’ve come. I did not even expect to be here. I’ve made so many new friends and I can’t wait to be baking again,” the 22-year-old shared as she farewelled her fellow bakers and now lifelong friends.
Wesley Mitton
37, Digital E-commerce Director
Wesley entered the Bake Off tent with flair and a love of baking.
Having grown up in the country, his baking style is inspired by the CWA.
However, he was sent home during pie week.
Despite being sent home during the third week, he had no regrets.
“I’ve had an amazing time, I’m really proud of myself,” he said after his elimination.
“I will be taking away 11 new friends.”
Erik Newcomb
43, E-Commerce Director
Erik was ready to tackle anything that came his way during the baking competition.
Based in Manly with his dog, Duke, Erik previously called Michigan home.
He entered the tent with a passion for baking and a love of decorating, inspired by his Polish grandmother.
Sadly, he was the second contestant to be sent home during biscuit week.
While sad to leave, he said it was a “once in a lifetime experience”.
“My time at Bake Off has been absolutely incredible, I wouldn’t have traded it for the world, it’s been such a cool experience,” he said.
Gregson Gastar
44, Hairdresser
Gregson entered The Great Australian Bake Off with a smile, a love of pineapples, and lots of colour.
The hairdresser has been baking since he was nine years old, and
While he brought flair to all of his bakes, and even some impressive dance moves, he was the first contestant eliminated from the competition.
“I’ve had the best time,” he said.
“The stuff that I have learned I have learned in this shed… is priceless. I might be the first gone, but they’re always gonna remember my pineapple dance.”
Darren said his warm personality and joyful energy would be missed in the shed.
The Great Australian Bake Off is on every Tuesday at 7.30pm, on Foxtel and Binge.
